Here are upcoming news and events from Outdoor Chattanooga:

The Nickajack Naturalist partners with Outdoor Chattanooga to host a free, four mile hike on TVA's Little Cedar Mountain trail on Sat., Dec.
5
. This will be a moderate, leisurely-paced hike with two climbs and two descents averaging 350 feet in elevation gain. Enjoy scenic views of Nickajack Lake and the surrounding mountains, as well as a chance to see some of Little Cedar Mountain's wide variety of plant and animal life. The trailhead is located 45 minutes from Chattanooga and the group will meet at 9 a.m. at the trailhead. The hike is appropriate for ages 8 and up. Rapid Learning Program December 1 & 8
Outdoor Chattanooga's Rapid Learning Program will resume at Hulsey Wellness Center at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN with two sessions offered in December; Tuesday, December 1 and 8 from 7-9 p.m. There is a $2 fee for participants to enter the Wellness Center, so be sure to bring cash to get in. Boats can be dropped off behind the building, but everyone must enter through the main entrance. For more information, email Outdoor Chattanooga or call (423) 643-6888.

*Hikes Against Hunger November 27
Choose one of three hikes offered at the South Cumberland State Park on Fri., Nov. 27 to support local food banks and help those in need. 

Grundy Lakes Hike
Participants meet at the Grundy Lakes parking lot for an easy 1.5 mile hike around the lakes. Registration begins at 9:30. Individuals $10; $25 for a group of four. Proceeds support Grundy County Food Bank which provides meals to about 500 families each month. Pre-register: Call (931) 924-2980 or email Grundy County Food Bank.
Savage Gulf Day Loop
Skip the Black Friday chaos and join in the 2nd annual fundraiser hike to support our local food bank. Meet at the Savage Gulf Ranger Station to hike the beautiful 4-mile loop. Proceeds support Sequatchie County Food Bank which serves 11% of the county. Adults: $25 (with t-shirt) or $15 (without t-shirt). Children $18 (with t-shirt) or $10 (without t-shirt). Natural Bridge WALK 
Take a 30-minute early morning walk at beautiful Natural Bridge in Sewanee. Bring along can goods to support the food bank in Franklin County. No registration needed. Walk begins at 8:00 a.m.
35th Annual Lighted Boat Parade November 27
Celebrate the holidays at the 35th annual Lighted Boat Parade on Friday, November 27 from 7-9 p.m. on the Chattanooga River Front. This is a free event, open to the public, with great viewing locations at Ross's Landing and the Walnut Street Bridge. Lula Lake Open Hike Days
With the weather cooling, it's a great time to get out with friends and family to enjoy a scenic hike at Lula Lake. Open Hike days for the rest of the year are: 
Sat., Nov. 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
Sat., Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sun., Dec. 6 from 12 to 5 p.m.
Sat., Dec. 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Donations are appreciated, but not required.

Holiday Open House at Cravens House Dec. 4 & 5 
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will host special tours of Cravens House on Lookout Mountain Battlefield, as a part of a Holiday Open House, on Fri. and Sat., Dec. 4 & 5. The house will be decorated Civil War era style. Guided history tours will leave every 30 minutes between 6 and 8 p.m. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Sculpture Fields at Montague Park Now Open Weekends through April
The Sculpture Fields at Montague Park is a new, 33 acre park in Chattanooga that showcases sculptures from all over the world, has walking paths and gardens for the public to enjoy. The Sculpture Fields will be open on weekends until April 2016. The grand opening for the park will be held April 8-10, 2016 and then be open through the week. The park is located at 1141 E. 23rd street with the park entrance on Polk Street. To learn more you can visit the Sculpture Fields website.
