Marion Ware, 88, died on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Creekside Retirement facility.

Marion graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and also Spelman College.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for over 60 years until her health failed.  She served as a member of the Usher Board; was on the Bereavement Committee and Ever Ready Club.

Marion taught in the Chattanooga Public School System for 33 years until she retired.  She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and also a member of the Links, Inc.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Shepherd; her husband, Frank Ware, Jr.; brother, Milton Shepherd; sister, Eva Clay and son, Frank Ware, III.

Marion is survived by sons, Thomas (Karen) and Ken (Carolyn) Ware, both of Chattanooga; siblings, Blanche Sneed of Chattanooga; James Shepherd of Chicago, IL and Josephine Haynes of Norcross, GA; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends.

A service to celebrate the life and home going of Mrs. Marion Ware will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3.  Visitation will be held from 12–1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Hospice of Chattanooga.
