Please Mr. Bailey, Stop The Road Dieting

  • Wednesday, November 4, 2015

Please Mr. Bailey, consider the traffic jams you are causing by placing North Market on a “road diet”.

I travel in to downtown by way of Hixson Pike every day and over the past two weeks I have come to a complete stop at Sylvan Way, by the Kangaroo, trying to get to Market Street Bridge.  I took over eight minutes to travel less than one mile to the bridge.

The last time I looked the motorists pay taxes to ride on the streets of Chattanooga, and with all of the potholes in the roads we are not getting our monies worth.  And for the city engineers to even consider reducing the lanes of traffic, thus causing more headaches for automobiles, is crazy.
