Hazardous Waste Collection Day

Even though it was a rainy Saturday, 353 households took part in the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day.

A team from CleanHarbors Environmental Services, plus volunteers from Cleveland/Bradley County Keep America Beautiful and trustees from the Bradley County Sheriff's Department, unloaded recyclable items from vehicles at the Tri-State Exhibition Center from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.  Members of the city of Cleveland Storm Water Division distributed environmental information.

Sponsors also included Santek Environmental Services, Bradley County government including County Mayor D. Gary Davis and the County Commission, Cleveland Utilities and the Bradley County Sheriff's Department.

A large quantity of household chemicals, automotive fluids and pallets loaded with unwanted televisions were collected for proper disposal.
