Dorothy Mae Valley, 87, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, November 6, 2015.
 
Born Dec. 10, 1927, in Rowan County, N.C., Mrs. Valley was the former Dorothy Mae Lineberry, a daughter of Sadie Lineberry Josey. Dorothy was of the Baptist faith and a long time member of the Heritage Baptist Church.
 
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Frank Valley, Sr.; son Arthur Frank Valley, Jr.; daughter, Betty Faye Williamson, and her grandson, Stephen Matthew Ortwein.
 
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy (Steve) Ortwein and Susan (Steve) Poole; grandchildren, Jeremiah Serre, Leigh Ortwein, Kale Williamson, Frank Valley, III and Bart Valley; and great-granddaughter, Haley Grace Serre.
 
Dorothy touched many lives of children working in the cafeteria of Trinity Christian School.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, in the Valley View Chapel.  Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.  
 
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
