Harvest Grocery, Hixson’s newest local grocery store, will give a 25% discount on its hot food bar offerings to all veterans on Wednesday.

“We love our community and it is important to us to support our veterans and show them how much we appreciate their service.

We wanted to offer them a deal on a delicious, hot meal as a token of our gratitude,” said Harvest Grocery co-owner Tim McClure. "Bring your favorite veteran down to Harvest Grocery on Wednesday to enjoy a discounted, delicious hot meal. Choose from local chicken, 18-hour smoked pulled pork, fresh greens and more."

On Wednesday, military veterans will be able to order free Bellhops help for moving and lifting jobs taking place between Nov. 13 and Dec. 15. Officials said, "Whether it’s loading or unloading a moving truck, moving belongings into or out of storage, rearranging furniture at home, decluttering or downsizing, we'll help with just about any labor chore."

Each free job will include the services of two bellhops for an hour of work, no strings attached. Jobs requiring more bellhops or more time will be subject to standard Bellhops pricing—$40 per bellhop, per hour.

Although the jobs can take place any time between Nov. 13 and Dec. 15, they must be booked on Veterans Day. On Wednesday, just call 855 625-8623 or visit GetBellhops.com. Make sure to use the coupon code “VeteransDay2015” to take advantage of this initiative. No jobs on Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 26-29), please.

Tennessee State Parks announced its annual free state parks day on Wednesday for all Tennessee veterans offering one free night of camping and/or a complimentary round of golf with appropriate identification.

Sticky Fingers Ribhouse offers veterans, active, inactive or retired servicemen and servicewomen a free entrée up to a $12.99 value this Veteran’s Day. For servicemen and servicewomen the meal is completely free and no other purchases have to be made in order to receive the $12.99 value.

“We are forever grateful for the men and women who serve our country; this is a small gesture on our behalf to express our gratitude for their ongoing dedication and selflessness to our homeland,” says Sticky Fingers, vice president of Operations and former United States Marine Robert Patterson.

Proof of military service includes: dressing in uniform, DD14 form, dog tags, or current or expired government I.D.  In addition to the free meal, Sticky Fingers is offering Veterans who dine-in a coupon valued at $10 to be used on their next visit.

Chicken Salad Chick is saluting area veterans with a free original chick meal on Veterans’ Day.  Past and present members of the military are invited to come in and show their military identification for the free meal.

Franchisee owner Josh Patton says it’s an easy way to thank service members for the sacrifices they’ve made for the country.  “Our team members wanted to do something to thank service members for their contributions.  By offering a free meal on Veterans Day, we hope to show how much they are appreciated.”
