Leo Fay “Cooley” Brown, 84, of Trion, Georgia, died on Sunday, February 1, 2015, in Floyd Medical Center.
Mr. Brown was born May 9, 1930, in Trion, the son of the late Joseph Eugene and Agnes Vivian Evans Brown. Mr. Brown was retired from Roper Corp. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, loved fishing, was an avid golfer, and a former golf pro at the Trion Golf Course.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Regina Faye Prince, Kenneth Daniel Prince, and a sister, Dorothy Ledford.
Survivors include his children, Bucky R. and Marcia Brown, Eddie McWhorter, Brannon Brown, Vickie Darnell, brother, Johnny M. Brown, Sr., sister, Jane Brown, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert Patterson officiating with interment in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Johnny M. Brown, JR, Joseph Brown, Anthony Mitchell, Todd Holt, Richard “Bear Bait” Blackmon, Randy Ledford. Honorary pallbearers, Staff and employee’s of North Georgia Home Health.
Mr. Brown will be in state at the Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2.
