Mohawk Industries Ranks Highest Among Flooring Companies In Training’s Annual Top 125

  • Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Training magazine has ranked Mohawk Industries 14th on its annual list of top training organizations.

Mohawk is the highest ranked flooring company on the list and the highest ranked manufacturing organization. The company ranked fifth in 2014, eighth in 2013 and fourth in 2012.

“We are thrilled that Training magazine has recognized the exceptional work done by hundreds of trainers at Mohawk,” said Amanda Arnwine, corporate learning director at Mohawk Industries. “We are honored to be included in a group of world class companies in the Top 125.”

This marks Mohawk’s ninth consecutive appearance in the Top 125, which evaluates excellence in employer-sponsored training and development programs.

The company is the only flooring manufacturer to achieve top 10 status in Training’s rankings and one of only a few manufacturing companies to achieve this level of success.

The rankings were formally announced at the 38th-annual Training Conference and Expo, held this year in Atlanta, on Feb. 9. The Top 125 companies will be highlighted in the current issue of Training magazine.

"Mohawk’s high place in the rankings was based on training initiatives across the enterprise, including programs from manufacturing, distribution, sales and administrative areas that underscore the company’s learning culture and its commitment to service, innovation and continuous improvement," officials said.

“At Mohawk, training is a platform for helping people fulfill their personal and professional potential as well as helping the business achieve its goals,” said Ms. Arnwine. “Exceeding customer expectations and delivering industry-leading quality and value require an ever-expanding skill set. Through our continuous learning programs, we are preparing our people to meet the business demands of today and tomorrow.”

The current “Top 125” was the most competitive ever, according to the magazine. Twenty-seven new companies entered the Top 125 this year, which expanded the applicant pool. Each year, the rankings are determined by assessing a range of factors including the scope of development programs and how well those initiatives assist the organization in achieving its business goals and objectives.

"One of the programs that sets the company apart from its competition is Mohawk University, which has established itself as a world-class online training facilitator hosting hundreds of learning opportunities – all from the convenience of a computer," officials stated.

Other notable companies in Training’s “Top 125” include Aetna, Best Buy, Blue Cross, BP, Capital One, Coldwell Banker, ConAgra, Discover Card, Dollar General, MasterCard, McDonalds, Nationwide, Paychex, Walgreens and Wells Fargo. Realty firm KellerWilliams topped the list.
