Fishing Report From The TWRA

Here is the fishing report from the TWRA:

Center Hill ReservoirReservoir Conditions:  Current water elevation is 629.  The water surface temperature has been between 43 to 46 degrees depending on area of lake.  Overall fishing has been fair and will get better has days begin to warm up.
Largemouth Bass: Few reports of largemouth being caught.
Smallmouth Bass:  Some reports of smallmouth being caught on the lower end of the reservoir.
Spotted Bass:  Some nice spotted bass are being caught in the mid lake area of the reservoir using jigs with grubs, spinnerbaits and jerkbaits on rocky points on main lake.
Crappie:  Crappie are still deep this time of year.  Look for structure in back of sloughs that might be holding shad. 
Walleye:  No reports at this time on walleye.  Warmer days ahead will bring to better fishing for walleye.

Chickamauga Reservoir:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 682.0 feet. Winter normal elevation: 676.0 feet.  Current elevation: 676.9 feet. The water surface temperature is 44 degrees early and warming to near 50 degrees late in the day with the warmer weather. Downstream of Sequoyah is warmer.
Largemouth Bass: Bass are being caught mostly on swimbaits and jerkbaits along the river ledges. Some bass over 10 pounds are being caught.
Smallmouth Bass: Some smallmouth bass are being caught along bluff walls along the river while using jigs. The number caught in recent days may be less than a week or so ago.
Crappie: A lot of crappie are being caught using various techniques. Open water trollers in secondary areas are catching crappie. Tightliners in deep secondary areas targeting stumps and brush are catching plenty of fish. Bluff walls in the river specifically the eddy areas are holding crappie. Minnows and/or jigs are being used. Color is important. The best color changes everyday.
Striped bass: Mid lake bass anglers are catching the most fish.
Bluegill: Most bluegill are being caught by crappie anglers.
Sauger: A few sauger along with some walleye are being caught. Jigs and/or minnows used in the tailwater areas along the bottom will be the better technique.
Catfish: Drifters using meaty baits are catching plenty of fish. The main river channel is the best location.

Dale Hollow ReservoirReservoir Conditions:  Current water elevation is 642.  The water surface temperature has been averaging around 40 degrees.  Overall fishing has been fair and will get better as the water warms up.
Largemouth Bass:  Several largemouth are being caught fishing with the “A-Rig” on drops in 20 to 35 feet of water in the main river. 
Smallmouth Bass:  Several being caught on the lower end of the reservoir.  Fishermen are using tailspinners fishing points in about 30 feet of water.
Crappie:  Some crappie are being caught in the main lake.  Crappie are still deep this time of year.
Walleye:  No reports at this time on walleye. Warmer days ahead will bring to better fishing for walleye.

Watts Bar:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 740.5 feet. Winter normal elevation: 736.0 feet.  Current elevation: 737.8 feet. The water surface temperature is 42 degrees early and warming to near 50 degrees late.
Largemouth Bass: Many anglers are using the rig along river banks and in deeper secondary waters. Some decent fish are being caught. The number of fish being caught hasn’t been great.
Smallmouth Bass: Jigs used along bluff walls especially in the river is the best place to fish. A few anglers are catching several fish.
Walleye and sauger: Reports of a few fish being caught while using jigs or minnows in the tailwater area below Ft. Loudon Dam. Night anglers seem to be more successful.
Crappie: Secondary waters in areas where the shad can be located is where the biggest number of crappie are being caught. 20 to 30 feet deep is the best depth.
Catfish: River drifters are using meaty baits to catch some large fish.
Striped bass: Mid lake bass anglers are catching more stripers while using the rig.
