  • Thursday, February 12, 2015

The Southeastern Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will hold its monthly membership meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Mountain City Club, 729 Chestnut St., from
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

This month’s guest speaker is Ronald Harris, director of Corporate Workforce Diversity at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. Mr. Harris will present *Marketing to 4 Generations*. “This is the first time in the history of America where there are four generations in the workforce,” said
Mr. Harris. “The impact is tremendous- different work ethics, communication styles, as well as workforce expectations.  Attendees can expect to learn how to lead, communicate with, and develop strategies around these differences.”

In his capacity at BCBS, Mr. Harris provides strategic leadership and counsel for diversity initiatives within the organization that include diversity awareness training, recruitment, employee development, supplier diversity, and community outreach. He also ensures
adherence to the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action Plan and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  Mr. Harris is a regular speaker at business functions and conferences throughout Tennessee and the country on diversity topics that impact the workplace.

AFP members and non-members are welcome to attend monthly meetings. Cost is $12 for AFP members and undergraduate students and $35 for non-members. Price includes lunch at the Mountain City Club.

The Southeastern AFP Chapter provides resources and networking opportunities for nonprofit fundraising professionals in the greater Chattanooga area. Meetings are held monthly, with expert guest speakers who present on topics such as planned giving, donor relations, marketing,
soliciting major gifts, and donor retention. The AFP also hosts the National Philanthropy Day awards and luncheon each November.

AFP memberships are available to both individuals and organizations. Benefits include research and practice tools, professional development and networking opportunities, and special member discounts. Additional 2015 meetings are scheduled for Feb. 25, March 25, April 22, May 27, June
24, Sep. 23, and Oct. 28. For information on membership and for a complete list of events, visit http://afpsetn.afpnet.org.
