Mildred Caroline Barrows
Mildred Caroline Eldredge Barrows, 85, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in a local health care facility.
Mrs. Barrows was a 1948 graduate of City High School and served as a teacher at Spring Creek Elementary School for many years. She served as secretary, organist, choir director, and youth leader at Lookout Mountain United Methodist Church and was manager of the Christian Family Bookstore in East Ridge. Mrs. Barrows was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kenneth Barrows, parents, Clara and Lon Eldredge, Sr., and brother, Lon Eldredge, Jr.
Survivors include her children, Sherry Mealor, St. Augustine, FL, and son, Charles Barrows, Flat Rock, NC; grandchildren, Kenneth Ray Holt III, East Ridge, Delona Lynne’ Johnson, Maryville, TN, and Jack Barrows, Chattanooga; great-grandchildren, Ashely and Spencer Holt, and Abigail Johnson; niece and nephew, Hannah and Allen Eldredge, Cleveland.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at Chattanooga Memorial Park with Pastor C.L. Harbin officiating. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Brainerd Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
