Bishop, William "Taylor" (Gallatin)

William “Taylor“ Bishop, 72, of Gallatin, TN, died on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Park Ridge Medical Center.

He was a member of Goodhope Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of T & L Trucking Company for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ross and Reba Bishop; one sister, Anna Louise Bishop; and step-daughter, Gloria Coleman.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Hatfield) Bishop of Gallatin, TN; one daughter, Stacy Michelle Thompson of Ft. Oglethorp, GA; two step-daughters, Charlotte and Danny Scott of Nashville and Audra and Jeff White of Nashville; one brother, Dean and Ann Bishop of Decatur; three sisters, Linda and Jerry Lewis of Decatur, Carolyn and Eddie Stout of Cleveland and Beverly and Johnny Prentice of Decatur; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 16 at 1 p.m., in the Bowers Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bill Pearman officiating. Interment will be in the Beta Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Lewis, Chad Prentice, Austin Prentice, Ty Coffelt, Steve Beaty and Lonnie Elder. Honorary pallbearers will be Leslie Anderson, Jerry Lewis and Eddie Stout.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, February 15 at the Bowers Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
