  • Monday, February 16, 2015

A Beginner/Newcomer Gardening Class is being sponsored and taught by the UT Master Gardeners.

"The class is very popular because the participants learn so much and they have so much fun," organizers said.  "Local merchants provide hundreds of useful gardening door prizes for the students.   Food is provided by the Master Gardeners who are also great cooks."

Topics include soil improvement, herb gardening, turf care, flowers, butterfly and hummingbird gardens, tree care, birds in the backyard, composting and much more.

This four week class meets on the following dates; Tuesday, March 10, 17, 24, and 31 at 6:30 pm at the UT Extension Office, 6183 Adamson Circle, off Bonny Oaks. Registration fee $50. Call Mike Payne at 423-842-3743 to register.
