Fishing Report From The TWRA

Here is the fishing report from the TWRA:

Center Hill ReservoirReservoir Conditions:  Current water elevation is 626.  The water surface temperature has been between 43 to 46 degrees depending on area of lake.  Overall fishing has been fair and will get better has days begin to warm up.
Largemouth Bass: Few reports of largemouth being caught.
Smallmouth Bass:  Some reports of smallmouth being caught on the lower end of the reservoir.
Spotted Bass:  Some nice spotted bass are being caught in the mid lake area of the reservoir using jigs with grubs, spinnerbaits and jerkbaits on rocky points on main lake.
Crappie:  Crappie are still deep this time of year.  Look for structure in back of sloughs that might be holding shad. 
Walleye:  No reports at this time on walleye.  Warmer days ahead will bring to better fishing for walleye.

Chickamauga Reservoir:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 682.0 feet.  Winter normal elevation: 676.0 feet.  Current elevation: 676.5 feet.

The water surface temperature is 42 degrees. The number of anglers on the reservoir is lower than normal.
Largemouth Bass: The “Tennessee Rig” used in various locations near deep water is a pattern being used by most. Jerkbaits are being used by many that refuse to use the “Rig”. Some big bass continue to be caught.
Smallmouth Bass: Main lake locations upper reservoir and lower reservoir by anglers using “The Rig” around points and bluff walls are catching a few smallmouth bass.
Crappie: Several crappie are being caught in various river locations and large secondary areas. Docks, brush, weeds, rock walls and ledges in these areas are the locations and minnows or jigs are the baits.
Striped bass: Some bass anglers are catching a few.
Bluegill: Some bluegill are being caught while fishing in many areas. Worms are being used most often. Creek mouths on the upper reservoir are popular targets.
Sauger/Walleye: A few are being caught on the upper reservoir while using jigs along the bottom.
Catfish: Drifters are catching fish while using favorite baits which vary according to each angler.

Dale Hollow ReservoirReservoir Conditions:  Current water elevation is 641.  The water surface temperature has been averaging around 40 degrees.  Overall fishing has been fair and will get better as the water warms up.
Largemouth Bass:  Several largemouth are being caught fishing with the “A-Rig” on drops in 20 to 35 feet of water in the main river. 
Smallmouth Bass:  Several being caught on the lower end of the reservoir.  Fishermen are using tailspinners fishing points in about 30 feet of water.
Crappie:  Some crappie are being caught in the main lake.  Crappie are still deep this time of year.
Walleye:  No reports at this time on walleye. Warmer days ahead will bring to better fishing for walleye.

Watts Bar:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 740.5 feet.  Winter normal elevation: 736.0 feet.  Current elevation: 736.7 feet. The water surface temperature is 42 degrees. The number of anglers fishing the reservoir is lower than usual.
Largemouth Bass: Some bass are being caught around deep banks in secondary locations, but more often in the river. “The Rig” is the most used bait. Some anglers are using jigs and jerkbaits.
Smallmouth Bass: River banks are the most fished locations for smallmouth bass. “The Rig”, jigs, and jerkbaits are being used for bait.
Walleye/Sauger: Some fish are being caught by drifters using jigs along the bottom.
Crappie: Secondary water in depths from 12 to 30 feet is the area where most crappie are being caught. Look for shad on the electronics in the deeper water and fish around them.
Catfish: Drifters in the main channel using meaty baits are catching plenty of fish.
Striped bass: Most stripers are being caught in the mid lake area by bass anglers.
