Sean Zhang
Sean Zhang, a Baylor senior boarding student from Athens, Ga., has been named a finalist in the 60th annual National Merit Scholarship program, the nation's largest academic competition. As a National Merit Finalist, Sean is among a distinguished group of some 15,000 students representing less than one percent of U.S. high school graduating seniors. Over 8,000 finalists will receive scholarship awards totaling over $33 million.
One of Baylor's Distinguished Scholarship finalists, Sean is a member of Cum Laude and is vice president of Baylor's Round Table.
He has served as a delegate with the Model UN program, earning All-Star Delegate honors his junior year, was a Baylor Notes editor, and is captain and founder of the Quiz Bowl Academic Team. In addition, he has served as manager of the girls’ volleyball team and is a student instructor with the Walkabout outdoor program, a dorm prefect, a member of the Peer Support Network, and a peer tutor. He is a recipient of the National Council of Teachers of English Writing Award and the Joe Key Leadership Award.
