  • Friday, February 20, 2015

Signal Mountain Nursery, 1100 Hubbard Road in Signal Mountain, announces Backyard Fun at the Nursery.

“Treats for the Birds" is an event for preschool/mommy and me, geared for ages 2-3.  The event will be held on Thursday, March 19 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  The cost is $10.

Parents and their little exploreres are invited to join in the fun and make some easy “homemade” bird treats.  After creating bird treats,  there will be some free play with scooping and pouring different textures.

Attendees will go home with some fun bird treats for their yard and great ideas for how to plant up their yard to attract birds all season long.  Come dressed for a mess.

“Wild Bird Treats 101” is a family program open to all ages, although information and activities are appropriate for ages 5 and up.  The event will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 10-11:30 a.m.  The cost is $15.

Get some hands-on experience making special treats for wild birds.  Participants will create several homemade bird treats including suet, which woodpeckers and wrens love. Also they will discuss other plants and feeder placement to enhance yards while making the birds comfortable to try their new treats.   Come dressed for a mess.
