Dr. John “Chuck” Chalberg

Dr. John “Chuck” Chalberg, a historical impersonator of American and British characters from history, will appear at Lee for two performances. He will portray Theodore Roosevelt on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Rose Lecture Hall, and G.K. Chesterton on Thursday at noon in Squires Recital Hall.

Dr. Chalberg’s characterizations began when he taught American history at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota. Since then he has performed all over the nation and is recognized as a recommended speaker by The Christian Meeting and Convention Association, LLC. In 2006, he was highlighted as the Featured Resource in an edition of Cross Ties, a publication of The Mid-Atlantic Regional Center for the Humanities.

Dr. Chalberg has also written and copyrighted a parody of the original preamble of the U.S. Constitution. It is titled “The Lost Preamble” which reflects the thinking of two of his intellectual heroes, G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis, as well as his reflections on Supreme Court decisions.

This is a non-ticketed event that is free of charge and open to the public. Rose Lecture Hall is n the Helen DeVos College of Education and Squires Recital Hall is in the Humanities Center.
