John T. "Pot", "Papa" Kirby died on February 19, 2015.
John was the only child of his parents, Lewis and Eller Kirby, of Madison County, Alabama.
John was eminent to his family and friends. He retired from Chattanooga Glass and Bottling Company after 25 years of service. He was an active member of GMP Union.
John leaves with unforgettable memories his wife, Elnora Gary Kirby; his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, cousins, other relatives and friends.
John’s family wishes to thank his caregivers and staff with Hospice of Chattanooga, Inc. and NHC Chattanooga.
The body will lie in state on Monday, Feb. 23, beginning at 10 a.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Gardens East.
