Betty M. Goodman, 81, of Ooltewah, died on Saturday, February 21, 2015.
She lived in the Chattanooga area most of her life and attended McDonald Road Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was a lover of flowers, birds, nature and music.
She was preceded in death by her son, Tom Zalabak Jr. She is survived by her husband, David Goodman of Ooltewah; sons, Michael (Connie) Zalabak of Niota, TN, and David Goodman, Jr. of Chattanooga; daughters, Janet (Dan) Seebeck of Ooltewah, Glenda (Lamar) Richmond of Cleveland, Deborah (John) Gorecki of Birmingham, Sheila (Steve) McCallie of Hendersonville, N.C., Anne Row of Ooltewah, and Julie (John) Aragon of Ooltewah; daughter-in-law, Carleen Zalabak of Ooltewah; 17 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 2:30 p.m. at Lakewood Memory Gardens East with Pastor Don Gettys officiating.
Pallbearers will be Danny Seebeck, Joey Richmond, Tony Richmond, Dan Seebeck, Lamar Richmond and John Gorecki. Honorary pallbearers will be David Goodman, Jr., Elisha Aragon, Summer Aragon, Dakota Richmond, Jacob Richmond, Gabriel Row, Micaela Row and Tom Zalabak III.
The family will receive friends from 12- 2 p.m. at the Highway 58 Chapel of Turner Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at 1701 North Beaurgard Street, Alexandria, VA 22311.
