Gloria Marie Hunt Mitchell, 79, of Dalton, GA, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Hamilton Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. J.C. Mitchell; her parents, Mr. Hubert Hunt and Mrs. Emma Lou Harris Hunt; and two brothers, Thomas Harris and Grady Hunt.
Survivors include her daughters, Evang. Marlene (Bishop Claud) Jones and Darlene Weaver; grandchildren, Cameron L. Weaver, Wesley (Amanda) Jones, Keyana Jones and Charmaine Jones; ten great-grandchildren; god-children, Rashad Curtis, McLean Davies, Shanice “Pinky” Taylor, and Michael Foote; five sisters, Jennie Mitchell, Allirene Stinson, Virginia Bryant, Rosa (Gary) Brooks and Barbara Jean Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, the Lamar Sims family, Logan family, Ann Davies Family, other relatives and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be Wednesday, February 25, at New Hope Baptist Church, 900 Roan Street, Dalton, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Kenneth Scaife as Eulogist, Rev. Rodney Weaver presiding, and other ministers officiating.
Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 24 after 11 a. m. and the family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Interment will follow in West Hill Cemetery.
