Faith Divine at two days old
Dalton residents, Lucilla and Francisco Cuaresma have a triumphant story they will share about their daughter’s birth, Faith Divine, at only 23 weeks. Faith’s story regarding having zero chances of being alive will be shared with WTVC-News Channel 9 viewers during Ronald McDonald House Charities annual telethon on March 7 starting at 7 p.m. The reason behind RMHC of Greater Chattanooga’s annual telethon is to inspire the community with family, volunteer, and donor testimonials.
The program will also involve thanking donors for their past support and to encourage viewers to call-in and make a donation.
Faith Divine was born on Oct. 1, 2015. The name of Cuaresma’s precious daughter wasn’t ironic at all; in fact, her family needed more faith during her birth than any other time in their lives. After being on bed rest, one month into Ms. Cuaresma’s first trimester, she went into labor. Right before Faith was brought into the world, the doctor notified the family that the chances of her living were zero.
Being told the smallest feeding tube won’t help because of how tiny she is didn’t stop the Cuaresma from believing in their daughter. After an emergency caesarean section, the breathing tube went smoothly through Faith. Weighing only 1 lb. 6 oz., she was taken to the NICU to receive proper care. A couple days later on Oct. 4, the Cuaresmas, and their son, Francis, checked into Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Greater Chattanooga.
While staying at RMHC, they received relief. Ms. Cuaresma said, “I don’t know how I could survive without RMHC. Could you imagine the energy and stress driving back and forth from Dalton, Ga. and affording a hotel room each night?” Even though they were grateful for staying at RMHC, the most traumatic situation occurred 12 days later.
They received a call from the doctor notifying them to come quickly to the hospital and say their goodbyes to Faith. She was barely breathing.
