Notre Dame Advances In Region 4-AA

 The Notre Dame Fighting Irish fought off Macon County Tuesday night in their region 4-AA opener.   The Irish got in foul trouble in the fourth quarter but were able to hang on for a 70-63 win. 

Notre Dame's Tyler Byrd led all scorers with 26.  Byrd hit 8 of 11 free throws including four in the fourth quarter.  Kealey Green who fouled out had 14 points.  

Notre Dame led by as much as 10 in the fourth quarter.  Macon County cut the lead to six with :42 seconds left but that is as close as they would get as Notre Dame held on for the win.  

Evan Perrigo had 18 for Macon County.  Trace McPherson had 14.
