Collaborations II is the March exhibit at River Gallery, with works by Daud Akhriev and Melissa Hefferlin of Spain and Mary Lynn Portera of Tennessee.
There will be an opening reception with the artists on Friday, March 6, from 6:30-8 p.m. The snow date is Saturday, March 7, from 2-4 p.m.
Creativity between Mr. Akhriev, Ms. Hefferlin, and Ms. Portera is blended again, this time capturing the light and romance of Venice, Italy and antique Mediterranean glass.
The show will feature "100 paintings of Venice" with paintings by Mr. Akhriev, depicting cityscapes and waterscapes of Venice. Ms. Hefferlin's paintings will highlight antique Mediterranean glass recalling the liquid reflections of Venetian canals. Ceramic vessel forms by Ms. Portera will relate to the vessel paintings.
This is the second exhibit of collaborative efforts between these three artists.
The events are free and open to the public.
