Moore, Betty Rose Evitt (Chickamauga)

Betty Rose Evitt Moore, of Chickamauga, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2015.

She was born on Feb. 12, 1923, to the late Alfred Lee and Lena Gladys Andrews Evitt in Walker County, where she was a lifelong resident and was a member of Chickamauga First Baptist Church. Betty Rose retired in 1988 from Chattanooga Paper & Wooden Ware Company as a bookkeeper after more than 30 years. She called Rosewood Assisted Living her home for the last several years. Betty Rose was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Moore; sister, Wilfred Parrish; and brother, Alfred Evitt.

Betty Rose is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Moore and Barry Walston of Lookout Mountain; sisters, Sarah Millican of Chickamauga, Margery King and Martha McGill of LaFayette; sister-in-law, Barbara Evitt Sentell of Rock Spring; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Leah and Paul Daniel; grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Jay and Robyn Walston; great-grandchildren, Will Daniel, Ally Daniel and Gray Walston, all of Lookout Mountain; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving and caring staff at Rosewood Assisted Living, to Life Choice Hospice, and to Drs. William L. Horton and Dannis E. Hood.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, in the funeral home chapel, with the Reverends Frank Hitchings and Richard Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Chickamauga City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service on Friday.
