Olympic Softball Gold Medalist Jennie Finch will be the keynote speaker at the upcoming Junior Achievement Spirit of Achievement Awards. This year’s event will be on Wednesday, March 18, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center.
The Spirit of Achievement Awards Luncheon salutes companies that have shown a commitment to Chattanooga and North Georgia students by supporting Junior Achievement for over 30 years. Honorees for 2015 are Elder’s Ace Hardware and Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union. This year’s event will also include the presentation of the John G. Kain, IV Corporate Citizenship Awards as well as the W. Max Finley Volunteer of the Year Award.
Junior Achievement of Chattanooga is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching students about the economics of life through free enterprise education. Founded in 1960, JA of Chattanooga serves K-12 students by providing a series of sequential hands-on programs. During this school year, more than 12,000 students in Hamilton, Catoosa, Walker, Marion and Sequatchie County schools will benefit from JA’s volunteer driven programs.
