Due to remaining snow on some of the roadways and the potential for black ice overnight and into the morning, Hamilton County Schools will be closed on Friday.
School Age Child Care will also be closed. Employees who accrue vacation will report by 10 a.m. and maintenance employees will report on regular schedule.
All classes are being cancelled and offices will be closed at UTC on Friday.
All campuses of Georgia Northwestern Technical College will delay opening Friday until 10 a.m. School officials will send out additional notifications if there is any change. Virginia College is closed. Chattanooga State opens at 9:30 a.m. and Cleveland State opens at 10 a.m. Dalton State opens at 10 a.m. Miller-Motte opens at 8 a.m.
The Hamilton County Clerk’s office opened at 8:20 a.m. Friday.
City Court, Judge Sherry Paty, will open court at 9 a.m. on Friday instead of 8 a.m.
Due to the potential for ice on secondary roads and to give everyone some extra time to safely get to work, the City of Chattanooga will have a start time of 9 a.m. on Friday. All non-essential employees do not need to report to work before 9 a.m. Public Works road clearing crews, public safety personnel, 311 operators, and other essential personnel should report as scheduled and follow emergency weather operations protocol.
BB&T Huffaker Insurance's downtown office will be open at 9 a.m. Friday (delayed one hour).
Chattanooga Cares will be closed on Friday.
Walker County Government Offices will open at 10 a.m. Friday, weather permitting.
Bright School opens at 10 a.m. Baylor and McCallie open at 10. GPS is delayed two hours.
Chattanooga Christian is delayed two hours
Covenant College is delayed two hours.
