Bettye Ann Ward Thompson, 79, of Chattanooga, died on Thursday, February 26, 2015. 

She was a very active member of Concord Baptist Church since 1976, the Martha Johnson (Joy Sunday School Class) and the BALL Club. She was a graduate of Red Bank High School class of 1953 and was retired from Combustion Engineering after 36 years of service. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester O. and Lois Burks Ward, husband, Ray B. Thompson, and distant cousins.

Bettye is survived by her church family and many loving and caring friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David King officiating, with the interment to follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, March 2, and from 12-1 p.m. on Tuesday, at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
