The Midtown Brass Quintet
The Midtown Brass Quintet, an Atlanta-area group of musicians, will perform on Monday, March 9, at 7:30 p.m. as a continuation of Dalton State College’s Concerts on Campus series.
Members of the Midtown Brass Quintet have performed with the Atlanta Symphony, Atlanta Opera and numerous other regional groups.
The group is made up of Paul Poovey and Jonathan Swygert on trumpet, Alan Brown on French horn, Hollie Lawing on trombone, and Bill Pritchard on tuba. The quintet plays an array of musical styles, including classical, jazz, pop and commercial music.
"The Midtown Brass Quintet is a terrifically innovative group of musicians,” said Dr. Ellie Jenkins, assistant professor of music at Dalton State. “They perform in all kinds of venues and all kinds of music. Each of them is an incredible musician in their own right, and when they come together as a quintet, the result is spectacular. To top it off, they're all great people with a real devotion to music in every form."
The Midtown Brass Quintet will perform in Goodroe Auditorium of Gignilliat Memorial Hall. The program is free and open to the public, and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
