She was born in Boynton, GA to the late Jack "Jesse" and Thelma Huskey Williams. She had been a life-long resident of North Georgia. She graduated from Gordon Lee High School, Class of 1940, where she played on the basketball team. After graduation, she attended West Georgia College where she was also on the basketball team. She was a former teacher at Ringgold Grammer School and also worked as a licensed Georgia real estate agent. She was member of Rock Spring United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the church choir.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Forrest "Bill"Potts, sister, Carolyn Smith, and brother, Jim Williams.
Mrs. Potts is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Phyllis Potts, and Jeff and Connie Potts all of Rock Spring, sisters, Iris Evans (Bill) of Boynton, GA, Mary (Tommy) Dowell of Two Egg, FL, grandchildren, Will Potts, Megan Potts, Shanica Lewis, Jesse Potts, great-grandchildren, Makaela and Makinley Lewis, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday, from 12-3 p.m. at Rock Spring United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Rock Spring United Methodist Church, with Reverend John Brantley officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Spring Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Rock Spring United Church Building fund at PO Box 117- Rock Spring, GA 30739.
The family would like to thank Life Choice Hospice, especially Cindy and Katie. A special thanks to caregiver niece: Jan Williams, Tonya, Teresa, Annie, Bernie, and all other special friends with the care they gave Mrs. Potts.
