Evening Movie Screening At Heritage House: D.W. Griffith's Abraham Lincoln

  • Tuesday, February 3, 2015

There will be two showings of the film on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Heritage House Arts and Civic, 1428 Jenkins Road.

Review on the film:

In this film from legendary director D.W. Griffith, Lincoln’s early life is depicted in the years leading up to his presidency, as well as his leadership during the American Civil War.

The script was co-written by Stephen Vincent Benét, author of the Civil War prose poem "John Brown's Body” and has come to be regarded as one of the definitive films on the life of our 16th president.

The presentation is from a restored print in the Kino Classics Blu-ray collection.

Admission is free and there will be popcorn and light refreshments.
