James R. Minnis, 88, of Harrison died on Thursday, February 5, 2015.
He attended Harmony Baptist Church.
He served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed at Combustion Engineering of Windsor as a nuclear inspector and quality control manager in Field Services for 44 years.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John Roy Minnis and Mary Elizabeth Jackson Minnis, and wife, Pearl Stephens Minnis.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ron (Kathy) Minnis; daughter and son-in-law, Tylene (Coleman) White; six sisters, Elizabeth Irene Ackerman, Mildred Agnes Norwood, Virginia Lucile Gleffe, Wanda Faye Varnes, Carolyn Sue Miller and Judith Ann (Mike) Mercer; six grandchildren, Bryan (Angie) White, Betsy (Terry) Swope, Sheri (Randy) Downs, Becky Minnis, Paul Lawing and Jason Lawing; six, great-grandchildren, Emily Downs, Cam Swope, Hal Swope, Matt Downs, Madison White and Hunter White; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Feb 10, at 1 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church with PastorJoey Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors and grandchildren and great-grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his home bound care givers.
