DeJuan Stephens
Police have arrested DeJuan Stephens in connection with an incident on Saturday in which he gashed the face of the mother of his child with a knife.
Stephens, 35, of Talley Road, was charged with attempted first-degree murder and domestic assault.
Officers said they found Octavia Williams, 27, with her face and shirt covered with blood.
In the incident on Cameron Lane, she said they argued after he came to pick up the child. She said he slammed a car door on the hand of another child. That caused her to get mad and kick the door to his vehicle.
She said he then came after her, choking her and using the knife on her. She had a large gash on the left side of her face and a gash on the back of her neck.
Stephens said he was trying to defend himself, but police said he said several times, "I should have killed that b----."
