Nickajack Road Up Lookout Mountain Closed Due To Possible Mudslide

Nickajack Road, the connector between Georgia Highway 193 up Lookout Mountain to GA Highway 157 is being closed because of a possible mudslide, Walker County officials said.

Larry Brooks, aide to Commissioner Bebe Heiskell, said at 6:30 p.m., "The wet conditions over the last several weeks have saturated the ground to the point that a possible mudslide has become a possibility. Crews are en route to close the road and address the situation."
