Audia Group Announces Job Fairs For New Plant In North Georgia

  • Wednesday, March 11, 2015

Audia officials working with Walker County Commissioner Bebe Heiskell and the Georgia Department of Labor are ready to begin the hiring process to fill openings for the new plant the company is building north of LaFayette on US 27.

“I am so pleased we are at this stage of this project,” said Commissioner Heiskell. “These jobs are proof that our business friendly initiatives are paying off in dividends.”

Representatives from Audia and the Georgia Department of Labor's Business Service Unit will be available on March 20, at the LaFayette Housing Authority located off of West Main Street in West LaFayette to provide the company's applications only. The main recruiting event for Audia will be held at the same location on April 24, with the Georgia Department of Labor's customized recruitment team there to assist applicants through the application process.

Audia Group plans to open the plant in early fall producing plastics for the southeastern region. Todd Gummersbach spokesman for Audia Group said, “The support we have received from the commissioner and her staff has been wonderful. We appreciate the warm welcome we have received from the community and are looking forward to calling Walker County home for years to come.”

Audia is spending close to $60 million into its LaFayette plant. The building is estimated to be about 300,000 square feet under roof.

“I am so thankful Audia choose our community to locate,” said Walker County Development Authority executive director Larry Brooks. “They looked at many communities in which to locate this plant and decided Walker County was the best fit for them. Hats off to all those who worked with us to make this opportunity a reality for Walker County. They know who they are.”

Audia International is a privately held company focused on plastic compounding, color solutions, and distribution, with a 60-year history of customer focused growth through its subsidiaries: Uniform Color Company, Washington Penn Plastic Co, Inc., and Southern Polymer, Inc.
