Local Officers To Experiment With Body Cameras

  • Thursday, March 12, 2015

Sheriff Jim Hammond said a beta test is planned of body cameras for local law enforcement officers.

He said he expects that the body cameras will eventually replace the current in-car cameras. He said they will provide much better images and audio.

The initial program will provide 6-8 cameras.

The $25,000 cost will be paid by the Aegis Foundation set up by Sheriff Hammond to provide private funding for law enforcement needs.
