A bad decision by a tractor-trailer driver blocked traffic on I-75 northbound for hours on Thursday.
The driver decided to try a U-turn in the median at the foot of White Oak Mountain, but he wound up striking several other vehicles, including another tractor-trailer.
The big truck, which was carrying plastic pellets, got stuck in the median and all lanes of northbound traffic were blocked for several hours.
The resulting congestion at the Ooltewah exit resulted in another wreck in front of the
Midnite Oil Service Station.
