The Covenant men's tennis team used strong performances from all nine spots to ease past William Peace 9-0 on Saturday evening at the Strang-Voges Tennis Center at McCallie School in Chattanooga.
The victory for the Scots is their fourth straight and moves them to 5-2 overall on the year. The match does not count towards USA South play. William Peace drops to 0-4.
The Scots dominated doubles play as the Pacers won just two points combined in the three matches. Matthew Harvie and Chris Cox eased to an 8-1 victory at the No.
1 spot, while Roy Anderson and Travis Hutchinson won by the same margin at No. 3. Michael O'Brien and Dan Madden produced an 8-0 shutout at No. 2.
Cox had the match-clincher in singles play at the No. 2 spot as he cruised past William Peace's Nick Raspberry 6-1, 6-0. Harvie, at No. 1, and John Granholm, at No. 3, each earned shutout victories. Madden took a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 4, while Jay Pannkuk and Nathan Hernandez took their matches at Nos. 5 and 6, respectively.
Covenant will be back on the court on Friday, March 20 when they host regional foe Berry. Match time is set for 4 p.m. on Lookout Mountain.
