Lisa Maragnano, executive director of CARTA, was the featured speaker at the Hixson Kiwanis Club meeting on Tuesday. Ms. Maragnano detailed CARTA's mission and recent upgrades to the system's routes and equipment.
The Hixson Kiwanis will accept nominations for the 4th Howard Somparac Community Service award through April 1. The award honors outstanding service in the Hixson Community. Nominations can be given to any Hixson Kiwanian or mailed to the Hixson Kiwanis, PO Box 36, Hixson, Tn, 37343.
The winner will be announced at the Kiwanis clubs annual Charter Night celebration on April 21.
