Charles Green
Charles Green, 89, of Chattanooga died on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at his residence.
He was a native of Whiteside, TN, and had lived most of his life in Chattanooga where he was a member of the Stevens Temple Cumberland Presbyterian Church serving as a deacon. He had worked for General Shale as machine operator for many years. Mr. Green was a United States Navy veteran having served during World War II. His passions in life were his family, fishing, feeding the birds, walking, and enjoying the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Jennie Green; five sisters, Elizabeth Glenn, Edith Picket, Mamie Ballard, Martha Kelly, and Lillie Jordan; and three brothers, Earnest, Ruben, and James Green.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mamie Green; sons, Tony Green and Adrian Green; sister, Virginia G. Sparks; sisters-in-law, Pauline (Wilford) Ford, Carrie (Haywood) Singleton, Leona (Don) Adams, Wanda (Charles) Banks, and Patrice Timmons; brothers-in-law, Charles Timmons, Ben Lee Timmons, and Anthony Timmons; special friends, Wayne, Paige, and Ava Wright; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 22, at 11 a.m. at Stevens Temple Cumberland Presbyterian Church 1601 East 3rd St. Chattanooga, TN 37404 with Pastor Ernest Jefferson officiating.
Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
