Fishing Report From The TWRA

Here is the fishing report from the TWRA:

Center Hill:  Fishing is good.  Water temperature is 48 degrees at Hurricane Bridge.  Water is slowly falling.
Bass:  Lots of bass are being caught on spinnerbaits crankbaits and jigs in colored water on channel banks.    
Crappie:  A few crappie are being caught on jigs and minnows around boat docks and sunken brush in 10-to-15 feet of water.
Walleye: A few walleye are being caught near the sandbar on jigs in 20 feet of water. 

Chickamauga Reservoir:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 682.0 feet.  Winter normal elevation: 676.0 feet.  Current elevation: 677.8 feet. The water surface temperature is 52 to 56 degrees.
Largemouth Bass: Good. Some big fish are being caught. The shallows are coming to life. Lipless lures are good.
Smallmouth Bass: Chunky rock banks near the deeper water while using jigs or crank baits on the lower end and along the banks on the extreme upper reservoir.
Crappie: Some shallow water crappie are starting to be caught. Most of these are being caught in open water while trolling. The deeper water leading into the shallows in the large creeks probably is the better area for catching numbers. Jigs or minnows can be used.
Striped bass: Some stripers are being caught by bass anglers. Most are being caught on the river.
Bluegill: Bank anglers are catching a few bluegill while using worms.
Sauger/Walleye:  No observations.
Catfish: Shad or other meaty baits used in the main channel by drifters are catching several fish and some big fish.

Dale Hollow:  Fishing is great. Water temperature is 46 at Lilydale.
Bass:  Lots of bass are being caught on jigs, spinnerbaits and crankbaits while fishing colored water in 5-to-25 feet of water.

Smallmouth:  Lots of smallmouth are being caught on the lower end of the lake, while using spinners and jigs in 20-to-25 feet of water on points.

Crappie: A few crappie are being caught while fishing minnows around sunken brush in 12-to- 20 feet of water.


Watts Bar:  Reservoir Conditions: Summer normal elevation: 740.5 feet.  Winter normal elevation: 736.0 feet.  Current elevation: 737.8 feet. The water surface temperature is 50 to 55 degrees depending on time of day and location.
Largemouth Bass: More bass are being caught each and every day. Some sloping banks leading into the shallows are being targeted. Jigs, lipless lures and crank baits are being used.
Smallmouth Bass: Most are being caught by those just fishing. Look at largemouth report.
Walleye/Sauger: No observations.
Crappie: Many deep crappie are being caught in the bay areas. Some crappie are moving shallow. Minnows or jigs are being used by tightliners, trollers, or drifters.
Catfish: Meaty baits are being used in the main channel. Several fish are being caught and some are large.
Striped bass: Most are being caught by bass anglers casting the rig in the mid lake area.
