The next City Council election is not until March of 2017, but District 3 incumbent Ken Smith is getting an early start.
State House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick and local businessman Henry Luken are hosting a Smith reception next Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Valleybrook Golf and Country Club in Hixson.
The suggested contribution is $100.
