ArtsBuild is currently accepting applications for the spring 2015 Community Cultural Connection grants that support arts projects for underserved populations throughout Hamilton County. Community Cultural Connections is a result of Imagine Chattanooga 20/20, a long-range cultural plan that created strategies to improve the community through arts and culture. Organizations, clubs, and associations in Hamilton County are eligible to apply for the grants which will fund up to $2,000 per project.

“Imagine Chattanooga 20/20 recognized that much more can be done to serve our diverse communities and neighborhoods,” said Dan Bowers, ArtsBuild’s president. “Through the Community Cultural Connections grants, we want the arts to be available to all cultural and ethnic communities, seniors, and persons with disabilities in every region of our county.”

The application deadline is May 1. Grant projects must take place between June 1 and Dec. 31. Applicants are not required to have 501(c)(3) status to apply. ArtsBuild will hold two grant workshops: March 26 at 9 a.m. and April 9 at 5 p.m. at ArtsBuild, 406 Frazier Ave.

The Community Cultural Connections grant guidelines and applications are available on the Artsbuild website, www.artsbuild.com.  For more information, contact Rodney Van Valkenburg, 756-2787, Rodney@artsbuild.com or Liza Blair, CCC program assistant, 697-1739, Blair37405@yahoo.com.
