Walter Young
Walter "Buddy" Young, 71, of Chattanooga went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 2, 2015.
He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area and was of the Baptist faith. "Wild Man Buddy Marlo" was a professional wrestler for several years and retired from the city of Chattanooga in 2012 after more than 35 years of service. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will truly be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Willie Mae Young; sister, Ruth Chadwick, and also Robert and Ramona Young.
Survivors include his loving wife of more than 53 years, Eva King Young of Chattanooga; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and (Janae) Young of Cleveland, David and (Elaine) Young of East Ridge and Dana and (Sue) Young of Chattanooga; daughter, Deborah VanFossen of Chattanooga; daughter-in-law, Christina Young; brothers and sister-in-law, Aaron and (Susann) Young, and Carroll Young; sisters and brother-in-law Provie and (Roy) Nales, and Sheena Legion; grandchildren, Jamie, Michael and Amber), Chassy and (Mark), Emily, DJ, Zach, and Avery, and one great-grandchild, Stormi.
The family would like to thank the Memorial Hospital 4 East Oncology unit, Dr. Nathan Chamberlain, and Dr. Michael Stipanov for their care and compassion they provided during Buddy's illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Powell and Gene Spurlock officiating. Interment will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends after 2 p.m. on Tuesday and prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
