James Stanley “Buddy” Harris, 80, of Pikeville, TN, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015.
He was a brick mason by trade. He loved to watch football and listen to the Edmons family play Bluegrass.
He was born in Chattanooga on April 27, 1934 to the late George W. (Ethel) Harris; and was also preceded in death by his wife, Glenna Harris; and two granddaughters, Ashley Chastain and Lauren Elizabeth Harris.
He is survived by his sons, Max Harris, Mitch (Sophie) Harris and Mike Harris; daughters, Patsy (Tommy) Whittemore and Tina (Jeff) Chastain; step-sons, Ernest (Susan) Kilgore, Dennis Kilgore and Doug (Mary) Kilgore; step-daughters, Stella (Cliff) Hale, Pat (Sammy) Mills and Annette Kilgore; grandchildren, Casey (Greg) Wilson, Bailee Chastain and her fiancé Josh Barrett, Adam (Marsie) Whittemore, Angel (Jonathan) Funderburk, Jaime Whittemore, Jody (Dedra) Whittemore, Brett (Amanda) Whittemore, Cody Harris, Corey Szczepanik and Michael Harris; and 20 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of “Buddy”'s Life will be held on Tuesday March 3, at 11 a.m. CST (12 p.m. EST). Burial will be in the Blackburn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. CST (6-8 p.m. EST) on Monday, March 2.
The family wants to express their gratitude to Erlanger Hospital with special thanks to nurses’ Kendra and Kris and Dr. Shome and Dr. Singh.
