The No.7 seeded Chattanooga women’s basketball teams opens NCAA play against No.10 Pittsburgh Saturday at 11 a.m. in Knoxville.

Those who follow the team know that Jasmine Joyner is the big shot blocker, Destiny Bramlett does a great job off the bench and Red Payne is that spark the team needs to keep the offense running.

But do you know who was born in Germany? Who plays the banjo? … Why Ansley Chilton wears No.30? … Who is afraid of the dark and who is not? Which Moc doesn’t like to fly? Who carried a 4.0 last semester? And who has 10 tatoos?

A Brief Look at Each Player

DESTINY BRAMLETT …not afraid of the dark, nor afraid to shot the 3 when open … has 10 tatoos and earned a 4.0 last semester … she is tri-racial, black, white and Asian … specifically Thai … her shoes are the first to save in a fire … she is the self-proclaimed team chef … grilled chicken, green beans, macaroni.

ANSLEY CHILTON ..most outgoing team member … can play the guitar very well … would save phone, guitar and laptop … wears No.

30 because her parents wore the same number when they played … cannot cook, but enjoys Fried chicken, mac ‘n cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans and a roll.

ARYANNA GILBERT … would like to trade plays with Labron James for one day ….” I’d like to know what it’s like to be the best.”

… is afraid of the dark, cannot cook, but enjoys steak and loaded baked potato … “I’m kind of country. I like muddin’ and fishing.”

KEIANA GILBERT … the shiest team member … like her sister, Aryanna, Keiana cannot cook, but enjoys Chicken Alfredo … would like to trade places with Lakers star Kobe Bryant so she would know what it feels like to lead her team to multiple championships … she has one SoCon ring from this year’s title run … not afraid of the dark and thinks Spiderman is simply amazing.

MOSES JOHNSON … wears No.23 .. guess why, Michael Jordan, who else … excellent singer .. growing up in the church she can play the piano and saxophone … hopes to play some beautiful music with the basketball this weekend … asked what is the one item she would save in case of fire … “photo of my mom” who died in 2013 … she would like fictional character Superman come to life … “he saves the world, what’s not cool about that?”

JASMINE JOYNER … shot blocker extraordinaire … born in Germany, once lived in North Carolina and now in Mississippi … would save her phone in a fire and loves Oreo Ice Cream … mom calls her “Butterfly: and high school coach called her “Stick” … wants to travel to Oklahoma in hopes of meeting NBA star Kevin Durant (and maybe block one of his shots in the paint!!) … not afraid of the dark or go up and swat away another opponent’s shot … favorite meal … “Spaghetti, ribs, mama’s sweet corn, cornbread, greens, Granny’s candied yams.”

RED PAYNE … plays the banjo … earned a 4.0 in the fall semester … in a fire she would save her Bible above all else … doesn’t cook much but enjoys going to Cracker Barrel … and would like to have Batman come to life … “he’s cool and he saves people.

CHELSEY SHUMPERT .. she can’t live without naps, phone and headphones… and would save her phone charger in a fire … can’t cook, but knows how to dish the ball to teammates who are open … not afraid of the dark.

ANNA CLAIRE NOBLIT … terrified of flying, but wants to visit London … maybe travel by ship … a couple of wins in the NCAA and she’ll be boarding a plane for Spokane … a good cook and her favorite meal is pork tenderloin and twice baked potato .. asked who she would trade places with for one day … “my mom, she is everything I would want to be” … not a better present for a mom than those words … priceless.

Ka’VONNE TOWNS … cannot live without music, family sleeping … favorite meal is Mom’s meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans and corn bread.” Would like to trade places with President Obama … “ I’d like to see how it is to be in the White House and be in charge.”

SYDNEY VANLANDINGHAM … she’s obsessed with perfume and likes to go four-wheeling and fishing … “God’s mercy, my Chuck Taylor’s and American sports are three things I can’t live without” … favorite meal is her mom’s fried catfish and pineapple cheese casserole.
