East Hamilton raced to a 7-0 lead and cruised past McMinn County, 10-5, Tuesday in District 5-AAA softball action at East Hamilton.
The Lady Hurricanes (3-1, 1-1) banged out 12 hits with Brie Levy, Alyssa Strickler, Miracle Gorman and Savannah Daniel going a combined 9-for-15 with seven RBIs in the win.
Levy was 3-for-4 with three runs batted in and Gorman went 2-for-4 and also had three RBIs. Strickler was 2-for-4 with a single and double and Daniel 2-for-3, both singles.
Levy singled in the second and fourth innings and belted a home run in the sixth.
Tori Barnes picked up the win, allowing four hits, four walks and recording four strikeouts over 6.1 innings of work.
The Lady Hurricanes scored three runs in the first on an RBI double by Strickler, run-scoring single by Barnes and Gorman’s triple that pushed the third run across.
Tori Harris hit a home run in a four-run second inning.
Levy added a two-run single that scored Daniel and Gorman.
