Courts Finally To Get Requested Furniture

  • Wednesday, March 25, 2015

The courts are finally going to get requested furniture from the county after lengthy delays and a rebidding.

County Mayor Jim Coppinger said the rebid came in under the projected amount of $85,000.

The cost will be $81,857.23 with most of the furniture to be supplied by CWC of Chattanooga. Seven chairs will come from NOI, which is Nashville-based, but has a Chattanooga office.

The initial request was from judges in Criminal Court, who said some of the chairs were unsafe and several had broken with lawyers sitting in them.

Later, additional furniture was added for General Sessions Court.
