Chattanooga State's Burgess Named Outstanding Technical Teacher Finalist

The American Technical Education Association (ATEA) named David Burgess as one of five Outstanding Technical Teacher finalists for 2015. An associate instructor of Industrial Maintenance in the Tennessee College of Applied Technology division at Chattanooga State Community College, Mr. Burgess has been with the College since 2010 and resides in Whitwell.

The Outstanding Technical Teacher award is presented to a full-time postsecondary technical education instructor whose performance and contributions are exceptional.

Innovative teaching strategies must be apparent and involvement with business and industry is essential. Award nominees must be a member of ATEA or the institution where they are employed must be an institutional member.

The winner of this award and others will be announced during the 52nd National Conference on Technical Education Awards Luncheon on April 16 in Indianapolis, Ind.
