Deputy David Headrick’s  has been named Whitfield County’s Employee of the Month for February.

According to the officer who nominated him for the honor, Mr. Headrick always goes above and beyond his normal deputies.

“Deputy Headrick does not just take an incident report; he takes the initiative to do more,” nominator Beth Gomez said.

“He follows all leads and investigates his calls himself resulting in arrest or recovered property which often clears his cases.”

Mr. Headrick uses all resources available to him, according to Gomez. “The most recent case in which Deputy Headrick went above and beyond was where he had contact with an offender on a disturbance call,” she said. “In talking with the offender, he was able to determine that they had some critical information that could clear an armed robbery. Deputy Headrick spoke with the offender at length, and their information did provide the investigators with valuable information that led to the arrest of the armed robber.”
