Suzy Weaver
Suzanne (Suzy) Holterhoff Weaver, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Suzy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga.
Suzy was born in Stockton, California but spent her childhood in Decatur, GA, Greenville, SC and Cincinnati, Ohio. She attended Mariemont High School in Mariemont, Ohio and graduated from George Washington High School in Charleston, WVA. Suzy earned her B.S. and M.Ed. degrees in Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She spent one year teaching Physical Education at Ooltewah High School. She then taught Physical Education and Wellness at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for 15 years and six years at Lee University in Cleveland, TN.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Holterhoff III, her father, Ralph Holterhoff, Jr. and her mother, Lorraine Henderson Holterhoff Henry.
Suzy is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, William Herman Weaver; her son and daughter-in law, William Herman Weaver, Jr. (Shay) of Alpharetta, GA; and her daughter, Michelle Weaver Henry of Chattanooga; her grandchildren, Addie Grace Weaver, Jackson Crawford Weaver of Alpharetta, GA; and Benjamin Cole Henry of Chattanooga; her brother and sister-in-law, John Holterhoff (Olive) of Jacksonville, FL; her stepfather, Wally Newell Henry of Ooltewah; and numerous cousins from Cincinnati, Ohio and Greenville, SC.
A celebration of life will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Tim Tinsley officiating. Private family burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Thunderfoot Ministries, 8105 Hamilton Mill Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37421.
